What's metered
DATA-PER-QUERY bills per query, priced at $0.001 per query, confirmed by the live endpoint. Anything smaller than a normal invoice line becomes chargeable on its own.
What the receipt covers
Each signed receipt binds the query that was run to the result set returned, so a buyer of a data feed can check they got the query they paid for, not a cached or partial answer.
The Circle complement
Circle's flow authorizes the USDC payment for a query. It does not prove which query ran or what came back. Hive's receipt signs that pairing. Circle Nanopayments enables gas-free USDC transfers as small as $0.000001 by batching offchain authorizations into one onchain settlement, per Circle's Nanopayments documentation. It runs live on mainnet across 11 EVM chains, per Crowdfund Insider. Hive has no relationship with Circle. This describes their public protocol and where a receipt sits next to it.
